Do you have an inflatable boat and want to equip it with accessories such as handles or rod holders? With our workshop adhesive, you can attach the desired accessories in no time at all, conveniently and free of charge from home. Whether rod holders, oarlocks, echo sounder mounts, RibPort or D-rings. Any PVC accessory can be glued to the PVC boat skin with this glue.
The Bengar glue is also ideal for repairs on the inflatable boat. Wooden elements such as transoms can also be glued to the PVC boat skin with this adhesive.
In addition, the Bengar adhesive was specially made for the outer skin of inflatable boats made of PVC (Strongan, Hypertex, Synotex, etc...). We even build our own inflatables using the exact same glue and process!

Glue

The glue is the main component of this set. You can glue oarlocks, skirting boards, brackets or any PVC accessory with Bengar glue. The glue and process are the same that our own inflatable boats are produced with.
Consistency at first opening is ready to use.
If you want to glue PVC parts on Hypalon or Nitrilion skin, you should apply the PVC part with the PVC glue. The boat skin should be applied with the appropriate adhesive (either Hypalon‌ adhesive or Nitrilion adhesive).

thinner

The thinner is there to keep the glue from evaporating. In this way, the glue achieves the best consistency and does not evaporate as quickly. You use the thinner to apply the glue smoothly.
It is advisable to use the thinner and the glue both at the same time (ratio 1:1).
You can never pour a lot of thinner because the glue will evaporate after use.
The first time you open the glue, it's ready to use (no need to add extra thinner). During use you can add the thinner.

Paint brush

The Storch brush is made of real cow hair and offers the perfect thickness for fine work. After the first use, the brush should not be stored outside so that it does not dry out. Please always store the brush in the tube after cutting it off.

duct tape

The supplied adhesive tape has recently been renewed so that we can give our customers the best opportunity to mark the desired spot quickly and precisely. This new tape is high quality and professional, sticks really well and is easy to tear off. It is 18mm thick and 50m long and UV resistant.
The curves must always be marked with small stripes.

frequently asked Questions

    • 1 question: How big is the area that can be glued with a glue kit?

Answer: A glue kit is sufficient for about 1 square meter (m²). Alternatively, the adhesive is sufficient for approx. 8 x RibPorts or 8 x D-rings.

    • 2nd question: How do I know if my boat is made of PVC?

Answer: To find out whether a boat is made of PVC, you can use a few clues as a guide. Mostly the price of PVC boats is between about 500 and 1500 euros. Hypalon boats start at around 2000 euros. A second possibility is to ask the manufacturer. The following applies to belly boats: Almost all belly boats are made of PVC (except Cordura). If you are still unsure, you are welcome to send us a message.

    • 3rd question: Do I have to use a heat gun to heat it up, or is a hair dryer sufficient?

Answer: You can achieve optimal results with the hot air gun (please follow the instructions). A hair dryer would also work for heating. To do this, hold the hair dryer as long and as close to one spot as possible.

  • 4. Question: Do I have to mask off when applying the glue?

Answer: You can also mark the spot with a pencil. While swiping the glue over it, you can't remove the pencil, but the visibility is low, you can still see them when sticking. Especially with dark boat colors you can see the pencil much better.

  • 5. Question: My surface to be glued is not flat but rounded. How should the part to be glued hold?

Answer: If the part to be bonded makes contact, it will hold immediately. In this way, curves can also be glued without any problems. You do not have to exert constant pressure on the part to be glued for the glue to dry/hold.

  • 6. Question: What do I use to press the part to be glued?

Answer: You can press the part with any object. It is important that it is not sharp-edged and can cause damage. If you choose to do it with your fingers, watch out for the heat.

  • 7. Question: How many degrees does it need to be heated to?

Answer: Heat up to +65° to 70° for approx. 2 minutes. The best solution is to always let the hot air gun move with your wrist. If you heat a spot too hot, small air bubbles will form. This is a sign that the glue is boiling. If you continue to heat, the material will be attacked.

  • 8. Question: How long should the glued areas rest?

Answer: The spots should rest for a day or two. The dinghy should remain inflated.
